Dizc is a desktop music player built for people who take their local music library seriously. In a world dominated by streaming platforms, Dizc brings the focus back to ownership your files, your
collection, your way. The goal was to build something that feels as premium as the music it plays.
The Problem
Most local music players haven't evolved in years. They're either bloated with features nobody uses, stuck with outdated UIs, or missing the small details that make an app feel truly polished. Dizc
was built to fix that a clean, focused player that gets out of the way and just sounds good.
Features
- Seamless playback with support for common audio formats
- Sleek dark UI designed for low-light listening sessions
- Smart library organization by artist, album, and genre
- Smooth seek bar and volume controls with intuitive interactions
- Album artwork display with a clean, immersive layout
- Minimalist design that keeps the music front and center
Design Philosophy
Every design decision in Dizc was intentional. The dark color palette reduces eye strain during long listening sessions. Typography was chosen for readability at a glance. Controls are placed where
your hands naturally reach. Nothing is hidden behind menus that don't need to be there.
What I Learned
Building Dizc pushed me to think deeply about user experience at the micro level — hover states, transition timing, spacing that just feels right. It reinforced that great UI isn't about adding more,
it's about refining until nothing is left to remove.
